Grief: Coping with the death of a client
Time & Location
About The Event
This class focuses on the importance of the therapeutic relationship when working with our clients. As we work with clients and their families on a regular basis, this relationship becomes deeper and more meaningful.
When a client dies, either expectedly or unexpectedly, it can have a lasting effect on the therapist, and their practice. Coping with the death of a client can bring up emotions that you may not be ready for, and they can be completely unexpected.
During this 3 hour ethics course, attendees will learn
- How grief can manifest itself into physical, emotional, social, and behavioral dimensions
- How to process grief within themselves in a safe and productive manner
- How to be present for your clients that are friends or family of the deceased, and stay within your scope of practice
- How to comfortably refer clients that need support that falls outside of the massage therapy scope during a period of grieving
- Class Ticket$100$1000$0
